PS Kiss ReCam

Ohhhh… Nostalgia… Never gets bad publicity…

Old cameras definitely had a character of their own. Each of them had her personal faults – one had light leeks from the body, another had a constant “fish eye” effect and others created strange artifacts all over the frame… Digital cameras tend to be perfectly industrialized. They are all so perfect (well, they should be…). Like so many people, we also get a nostalgia attack every once in a while. Thats the reason we created ReCam filter, so we can restore some of these damages.

But it takes so much work…

Yes. That’s right. What used to be just a click away, now days takes quite a long time to achieve , when you ignore the time it took to develop your film rolls, but that’s the thing about nostalgia. You only remember the up-side… Converting a digital photo to an old ragged film photo can be one hell of a job to do.

No more.

Open your photo, go to the filter menu and choose PSKiss ReCam. All you have left to do is to choose the effect you want to apply to your photo.

Please spend a short time checking the next examples:

The original photo was taken somewhere in Boston:

The building just didn’t fit this perfect shiny digital-perfect outcome, so we used ReCam’s Old Film Camera effect:

Just imagine how a photo of downtown Manhattan would look, if taken by a Lomo camera…

This is how it really looks. Sharp, cold, high-tech glass towers…

Lomo Style 1, will create a “bad” photo. Wrong contrast, less details, dark vignettes in the corners, but such a better atmosphere:

Lomo Style 2, one of our favorite creative effects, creates even a “worse” photo. It adds grain, ruins focus around center, shifts colors, throws yellow all around the center, just about every possible damage that makes this effect so good…:

As you can clearly see, these are three different retro effects. PSKiss ReCam will create a new layer in your Layers panel, so feel free to change the blending mode or the opacity to get even more variations of these effects.

Even after you clicked “Done”, you don’t need to start all over again any time you want to try a different setup.
Just go to the History panel. You will find all the setups you’ve tried in the dialog box.
PSKiss filters, remember everything for you so you can be concentrated with what’s really important – your work!
